Mediumship and God

Mediumship and God

The majority mediums and pyschics will tell you that they believe in God. Some of course don't, although they do believe in a higher power.

Leviticus 19:31. “Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them.”

A lot of religions think that anyone who "channels" IE speaks and passes messages from spirits are actually talking with the devil and his evil demons, who can change into anything that they want. The also seem to believe that Tarot cards and the Ouija board are the devils tools and will let demons through. Though most mediums and pyschics just regard them as a tool, a means to an end.

Now I know a lot of mediums and pyschics and they are some of the kindest and most spiritual people I have met and most believe in God. So how do those that do believe in God reconcile themselves with what the bible says...

Well for one they believe in a loving God, a God who in his wisdom has given to them a gift, a gift to help those who are grieving and hurting. A gift to help those people see that life doesn't end once you have shaken off your suit of clothes (your human body).

So I thought we would have a look at another statement in the bible ...
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world” (I John 4:1).

That one to me says test the spirits who come to you, because not all are from God. So is God in fact contradicting himself when in Leviticus 19:31.he says not to listen to mediums.
It seems to me in John he is telling people to make sure the spirits are who they say they are. Most mediums I know protect themselves and work with their guides and angels in order that only the spirits from the light and God are able to talk to them.

Unless of course anyone has a different take on this...
