The seven principles of spiritualism

The seven principles of spiritualism

1 THE FATHERHOOD OF GOD

If you believe in God, then you probably already have your own ideas aboout what he/she is,and about judgement day. Me myself I believe in a higher power, not the God of the bible though. Yes I believe there is something out there which is more than us. I believe we are on a learning curve while we are here on earth, just some learn more quickly than others.

2 THE BROTHERHOOD OF MAN

We are all one, we are all connected not just to each other but to everything. We are all responsible for our own actions, deeds and thoughts. As it says in the bible Do unto others as you would have others do unto you. And this one...A smile is catching, smile at a stranger today. By just smiling at someone and saying hello you may change what they were thinking or feeling. Try and do a good deed everyday for someone, it does get passed on :-)

3 COMMUNION OF SPIRITS AND THE MINISTRY OF ANGELS

This point is denied by most religions...they say it's the work of the Devil and therfore evil. I believe we can all talk to loved ones who have passed on and to Angels. How can something that brings comfort and peace to those who are grieving be evil?.

4 CONTINUOUS EXISTENCE OF THE HUMAN SOUL

That i believe in this goes without saying ..... yes we go on, but not to heaven as lots think, just to a different plane of existence, where we carry on learning and growing.

5 PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY

Man knows the difference between right and wrong. Man chooses for themselves which road they will take. No one be they religious or an athiest can escape any consequences of their actions. God doesn't do this though, this happens when we move onto the next plane

6 COMPENSATION AND RETRIBUTION HEREAFTER FOR ALL GOOD AND EVIL DEEDS DONE ON EARTH

Just because you go to church every Sunday doesn't make you a good person, just because you believe in God and Jesus doesn't mean you will get into "heaven"... what you do here on earth, how you react and relate to others, how you try and live a life to be as good as you can. Think of someone who desn't believe in God but has spent all their lives doing good works and helping others, do you think this person would not be allowed into the next life, or be sent to hell because they didn't believe?

7 ETERNAL PROGRESS OPEN TO EVERY HUMAN SOUL

We all go here, some will go and be on a higher plane than others, but we still learn when we are here. We progress and move on and up. Here there is no time, we have an eternity to progress up the planes. We all come from the light we all go back to the light.

  1. Oooh, some interesting points! Although I'm ever so slightly out of my depth here as I'm not entirely convinced I know what spiritualism is, and I've never heard of these seven principles.

    1. If it isn't too bold: I'm curious, why not the God of the bible?

    2. I think that it's very true: the things we think and do not only have an affect on ourselves, but on other people as well. How true - smiling is so infectious and beneficial!

    3. Out of my depth I'm afraid.

    4. I think that this one is a hard concept to grasp. I personally find it hard to get my head round eternity, but there again, it's hard to imagine not existing! I completely agree that our souls will exist forever, however, I believe in a heaven and hell.

    5. I'm not sure I understand...

    6. No, it doesn't seem fair that God would send someone who had spent all their life doing good stuff to hell. But then where do you draw the line? What is it that makes someone classified as good? I think we can take it for granted that every single person has done something wrong, so surely no-one can be good. Someone once explained it like this: if they cut the cable connecting the computer to the power then the computer wont work. It doesn't matter Whether they cut a small chunk or a large chunk, it still wont work.
Working on that principle, in order to be completely fair and just, God surely would have to send everyone to hell. Which is why he sent Jesus.

    7. Over my head again I'm afraid.

    Sorry if I've sounded overbearing.

  2. I really can't believe that the loving Omnipotent God of the bible would let this suffering go on..do I belive in the bible? I think the bible is a book of stories written hundreds of years apart with some stories missing, but in saying that most(not all)of the bible has a good moral standard in which to try and live by.

The point I was trying to make was...how can it be seen as evil... it brings comfort to those who need it...didn't the deciples see Jesus once he had passed? So they saw a spirit/soul and communicated with him...now some religions say this is evil...

I can't believe in a heaven and a hell...if I was pushed I would have to say we are in hell now.

Man has free will so chooses his own path. He/She will be judged on this when they pass on. Every action/deed/thought will be judged but not by god but by what you did. In effect you are judging yourself. Every action causes a reaction.

In the christian faith every child born of man is born with the sin of the father on him..so if you are a christian then you have sinned from the moment you were born. That is why christians have baptisms to cleanse. Do you believe a new born has sinned?
Also some say the New Testament negates the Old Testament...so the Ten Commandments are no more???
If you are not a christian you go to hell, or don't move on because you don't believe in Jesus? I can't accept that....

It's the different planes of existence as I said earlier on. When we pass on we don't just stop learning we carry on...some believe they come back to earth either to help or to learn what they didn't in their last life.

No you haven't been overbearing, I think I may have in answering you though, and if you feel this then I apologise now.

By that I mean the Original Sin.
